3 weeks

3 week and couldn't be sweeter!  I am learning lots with all my alone time with little Haley, first off she's so sweet and cute, obviously, but also she doesn't like to have dirty diapers, does like to sleep and lay on her tummy and definitely doesn't like to wait for food.  These are her main bones of contention, other than that life is pretty good for my little punky.  I love our time together and Braylen loves coming home to hold and kiss his baby sister.  He will often ask me where she is when he gets home, if I'm not holding her.  He's a very good big brother and she has been a great little sister, this equates to the fact that she has not taken any of his toys, yet!!

Fair time

I called up my friend Jill and asked if she wanted to come along to help with the kids.  It was a super hot day, but Braylen seemed to enjoy the animals, little Lightening McQueen, riding the tractor and watching the rides.  It was a good thing we went on free day, not sure paying $8 per person would have been worth the 2 hours we were there!! It was awesome having Jill there, thanks so much!!

Our first picnic

We were going to go to Jeremy's softball game and have a picnic, but we got about 5 minutes away from our house and Haley started going crazy.  I decided to make a last minute decision to go to a park very near our house.  So, that's what we did...Braylen played on the playground, Haley and I hung out in the pavilion and we ate our picnic dinner.  A good, although hot, night to hang out and get out of the house!!

First time in the crib

As promised we are going to try to crib, so I started with a nap.  She did really well and seemed to enjoy cuddling up in her new bed!

2 weeks old

Haley is 2 weeks old and we are going to start having her sleep in her crib.  I'm a little spoiled by our princess sleeping so well in the sling, hope it continues...

School time

It is time for Braylen to move up in the world...he's moving from in home daycare to a school style daycare.  Mom and dad's last day with us was Braylen's first day of school.  He was super excited and it was nice to take him while Haley was at home.  It was a little bittersweet taking him to ABC, he had no issues getting right in there and leaving me, but I was a little emotional!  Blame it on being a Scott or just having a baby, I was crying and had to step out of his room so he didn't think I was sad.  Fortunately it was snack time and there were little table and chairs to sit at, he had no problem with me leaving.  Ahhh, we're onto a new chapter for many reasons and I cannot wait to see how he responds to his new environment!!

Haley's 1 week old!

Wow, 1 whole week has passed and Haley's been so busy!  We've traveled, met all of the family, became even sweeter and is becoming adjusted to our family!  She is sleeping so well and eating like a champ!  I think there are a few differences between her and Braylen when he was a baby, she's a little more dramatic and likes to be held or moving lots!  But, she does have a very calm demeanor when she's dry and fed, and is so cute!  We love her so much and can't wait to see how she grows!!

MFR 2012

We decided to be absolutely insane and go to Jacksonville the weekend after Haley was born for the McLaughlin family reunion.  We drove there Saturday morning and it was a long drive with a few stops, but well worth the trip.  Swimming at the Anslyn's was great, hanging with the family and introducing them to Haley was wonderful and having Braylen entertained by everyone was awesome!!  The nicest part of the trip was driving home with just Haley, mom and dad followed us with Bray.  It was the quietest trip we have taken in a long time!!  Probably the most noisy for mom and dad though!!

My first day with the kids!

Braylen, Haley and I were home Friday for our first day home together!  We needed to give Haley a bath that morning and Braylen wanted to help.  She really liked it and enjoyed having her big brother there to entertain her!!  While Haley slept and ate, Braylen played with his toys.  Not too bad for our first day together with no dad!!

Our hospital time

Our first night was good.  Haley was a great sleeper, but not the best eater.  The nurse thinks she had mucus in her tummy.  After the first night and day, I was able to relax and sleep!  We had multiple visitors on Tuesday, my co-workers Melissa, Kristi and Jill, Abby, Joleen and Bob and the girls, Kristin and my parents and Bray J came back to hang out too!  It was wonderful to have so many people fawning over our little beauty!!  The second night was just as calm, the nurse said she was the calmest baby in the nursery and she had to wake her up to eat!!  WOOHOO, Haley, lets keep this up! We wanted to check out on Wednesday by 12 to get home and relax before Braylen got home.  The dr came to check on Haley and she had a mild case of jaundice that was slightly worrisome to the drs, but after a little deliberation they let us go home!  It was a HOT day, but a great day to be bringing out little girl home!  Jeremy made me lunch and we ate on the deck and were so happy to have our sweet and healthy girl home.  Truthfully I was a little overwhelmed with post labor emotions and realizing how much our family has changed and how blessed we were.

Haley's here!!!

My Monday morning began pretty abnormally, but I was a little prepared for that.  My dr told me to come in at 7am on Monday to be induced.  I asked if I could be induced like last time with a folley catheter and she said stop by and she would do it first thing on MOnday, so I was prepared to have a baby.  I was not prepared for the other stuff...I went to my dr's office (which is where I was induced with Braylen) and it was closed, obviously, so I called the nurse and they said to go to the birthing suites in the hospital.  The nurses put me in a labor and delivery room and I started getting a little nervous, personally you should never see one of those rooms unless you're having a baby!!  They asked me to change into the gown and then the nurse, Rita, came in and banded my arm...woah, what?!  I was a little confused I thought I was going home??!!  I inquired about this to Rita and she checked with my midwife.  After a few conversations, looks like i'm staying.  Well this is real now and I'm going to need Jeremy to pick up a few last minute things to add to my bag and bring that to me.  I sat for a few hours waiting for anything to happen, and nothing was.  My midwife came in around 12 and checked to see if I was dialated, not much happening there.  They did insert the folley catheter to induce me that morning and my midwife moved something around, or something, because shortly after she left I was feeling lots more.  Around 4:20 they broke my water and I was finally moving along at 6 cm.  After that point it was a blur, kinda.  I have more recollection this time around than with Braylen, like they had to move me around, a lot, due to Haley's dipping heart beat and the pain was a lot more intense this time around, but all well worth it!!  Haley was born at 6:35pm at 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches.  I didn't see her as much as heard her after she was born!  She was a very noisy girl and I knew right then and there we had a girl, so much different from the low key Bray J!!  We had Braylen come in to meet his little sister and then my parents and Don came in shortly after.  Jeremy asked Braylen to tell everyone what he had, he yelled, "A little brother!"  I heard everyone say, "oh really?" and Jeremy's response, "No, you have a little sister!"  A little humor after an intense few hours.  We finally got some peace and quiet around 9pm, when Jeremy and I ate dinner.  It was a crazy, but wonderful July 9!!

Our last Sunday as the 3 of us...

We spent a busy weekend with friends and family trying to keep busy while we kept waiting...  Sunday we went to Nora's house for a swim party!  It was super fun and Braylen had a really great time!  Nora invited a few of her friends and parents and we just hung out by the pool and relaxed.  Just what we needed before the chaos begins!!

We took a few shots of us as the Fluhr family of 3.  We are super excited and anxious to meet our newest addition!

A miserably HOT Friday

Braylen and I had Friday to spend together and still no baby!  Well, like the rest of the world, it's super HOT here!!  I had to think of something to do together that wouldn't fry us or bore us.  Here's what we came up with...
Before the decorations...

and after!
We made Braylen a Bray-bot...he walked around the house all day saying, "I am a robot, push my buttons!"  Pretty cute little guy!

4th of July

We spent the 4th waiting and enjoying a little Fluhr time in East Dubuque!  It was HOT and a little uncomfortable outside, so we were out and in hoping to stay comfy, but also see the fireworks show.  Braylen enjoyed the planes that flew over Grandma and Grandpa's house, but didn't like the jet that surprised us and ran in the house screaming.  The fireworks were great and family time was wonderful!!
