Mandi and Andriy's first visit of 2012

We had some snow over the weekend and I promised Braylen when Mandi and Andriy got to Dubuque that we could play in the snow.  It was a blast!  He had the most fun any 2 year old could possibly have and we had just about as much.  Saturday was an amazing day, sunny, not too cold or windy, just right!  Unfortunately due to Jeremy's work schedule he had to miss the snow day, but we made up for it that night out to the Dubuque hockey game and drinks after.  I think we all had a lot of fun hanging out and I know Braylen was super bummed after they left.  I know he goes through withdraws when anyone comes over and then leaves.  I feel like he looks at Jeremy and I and thinks, "Back to boring old mom and dad now."  I know I would if I were him!!

Snack and hot cocoa after sledding, yum!!

Visit to Nana and Papa's

We had a fun trip to Nana and Papa's this past weekend.  Enjoying the nice weather, visiting with family, seeing Leah and Frodo, "fishing" and, of course, playing!!  The trip to Jacksonville was really smooth, we left after work around 4:30 and I borrowed a DVD player for the latter part of the trip.  About half way home we put on a Mickey Mouse DVD and the last 1 1/2 of the trip was so quiet!!  We had lots of fun taking a bath in Nana and Papa's new tub and beautiful bathroom.

We played games with Mandi, Andriy, Nana, Papa and Jess.
Got to hear Andriy Chipmunk, I mean Chukin, as a chipmunk.

Warned all of the, "Big Dog Coming!!"  This is a hilarious new phrase that makes no sense, but never fails to make me laugh!

And, one of the most "fun" events of the whole weekend, was fishing in the kitchen.

Braylen's soon to be "new room"

We finished painting Braylen's room a few weeks ago and I found him playing in there the other morning.  Pretty cute!  Also, last night he told me that Braylen is going to be sleeping in the big bed and the baby will be in Bray J's bed.  I'm a little surprised by this comment because we've mentioned it a few times, but I wasn't sure he would take it in yet.  Here's another transition to break into!  This kid's going to have a complex, potty training, big boy bed, big brother... oh my!!

20 Weeks

Just turned 20 weeks and had our big ultrasound.  I was glad to get it and make sure everything is good because I've been feeling a little different and not feeling much movement.  The ultrasound tech said everything looks good, baby is 11 oz and all fingers and toes are in tact!!  Heart, brain and organs are all looking healthy too!  We are planning to be surprised again about the sex, but really thinking maybe girl...although i would be ecstatic with a healthy baby either way.
sorry a little off center, but my 20 week belly is quite bigger this time around!!!
My very flexible baby!

The heart rate is about 130

Happy Valentines Day

We love you all, here's a little something to show our love and make you smile!!
Wearing Nana's handmade scarf with pride.  (Just to let you know, mom, he wears this everyday!!)

This one of my gifts to Braylen.  We got a little snow the day before and I told him he can dig in the snow after Gretchen's.  Needless to say a lot of it had melted, but he still had a blast!!

Out of all of his Valentines day surprises, this CD from Nana and Papa was the best!!

Our "new game"

After I got off work early the other evening, in between trying to get dinner ready and entertaining a 2 1/2 yr old, I found a new game.  Bowling, or as Bray calls us bowlting.  The concept is that I set up blocks and he finds anything that rolls and knocks them over, simple right?  OK, maybe a little more difficult for a little tyke, but truly entertain for both of us.  And then add an empty toilet paper roll and we were set for the night.  I just need to keep pulling rabbits out of my hat on snowy and cold days and nights, not easy to do!  I'll take any suggestions you've got!

A new Milestone

FYI, this blog is slightly vulgar due to the content of talking about potty training...
Last night after Braylen was done eating, but still sitting at the table he told Jeremy he had to go poop.  Jeremy raced, literally, into the bathroom and said OK, you can go on your potty.  Braylen sat down and then stood back up telling me to put him diaper on.  He was acting odd and kept leaning on me and trying to pull up his pants.  I think he felt weird about going poop on the potty, that has yet to happen by request yet.  I tried swaying him with every bribe we had, skittles, cookies, books, underwear and finally I got him to sit down with a cookie while I read him a book.  I could tell he was going and Jeremy popped his head in and I motioned for him not to make a big deal, yet.  When I could tell he was done we had a potty dance and song!!!  Quite an exciting night for all of us.  We called Nana and Papa, but Papa was gone, so we told Nana the big news.  After that we put on underwear and he loved wearing it around until PJ time.  This morning right when he got up we to the bathroom and pottied and then again after breakfast before we left for Gretchen's, by my prompting.  And so begins the life of potty training...
