Camping in Camanche

We had a really great weekend in Camanche, IA camping with mom and dad, Mandi and Andriy, Jess and baby Leah (was kinda present).  The weather was wonderful, the accommodations cool, the beer cold, food delicious and memories were great!!  Braylen had a rough first night in the cabin, but after a little nap, for mom and Braylen, we were set for the day.  Mandi, Andriy, Jess and I went canoeing, got a little lost, but had a nice tour of the Mississippi backwaters, thanks to our little blue signs directing us where to go.  We went boating with everyone and the beach was perfect.  Our campsite was right next to the playground, which Braylen loved!!  And on Sunday before our departure we took a little geo caching adventure!  A fun filled weekend that was also relaxing, which is why I love camping!!  Braylen had an awesome time too, between Nana, junk food and being outside 90% of the weekend, it was his type of vacation!!  Thanks for all of the planning and fun memories, this definitely needs to be a reoccurring event!!

Braylen "helped' me get ready for the big camping weekend.  He didn't really help me pack, but did keep himself entertained while I was trying to finish the final details before we left for the weekend!!!
He loves putting on mom and dad's shoes

Suprisingly, he gets around pretty well in size 7 1/7 shoes!!

The dog's cage in the living room is super fun

Riley is thinkg, "I like this arrangement!"

Braylen's new favorite sport

After a few of Jeremy's softball games, baseball is his new favorite sport, just in time for football!!  After bathtime tonight he enjoyed a little nakey time with dad watching and then "playing" baseball!

Our quick Chicago trip

We took advantage of a free Sunday to visit Jason, Angie, Alana and the newest addition to the family, Andrew!  We go there around 1, had lunch and relaxed outside for a bit.  I got to hold the little peanut and he is so sweet and little!!  Alana was, as usual, so funny and just wanted to play!!  She and I, and Braylen a little bit, played sleepover and her and Jeremy played grocery shopping.  The kids and guys went for a walk to the park while Angie, Andrew and I ran to the store.  It was a short trip, but nice to see them and meet Andrew!!  Thanks for letting us visit!!

Adult boating trip

We invited a few friends out for an adult boating trip to a new restaurant in Bellevue, IA.  Friends of ours Laura and Dad and Thad and Karen, joined us and we had a great time!!  A few drinks, a little sun, great food and lots of laughs!!  Oh, and I saw my first river rainbow, we had to put up with a few raindrops, but it was well worth it!  I was glad we could all go and were able to kick back and relax.

Play date with Ried

We went over to my friend, Jamie's, house and Braylen got to play with new toys and I got to talk to Jamie and our friend Jill.  Reid will be 1 this October and Braylen had lots of fun in the play room and on the deck.  The one complaint he had was that Reid kept trying to use Bray to pull up on him to stand, oh and he also wanted everything Braylen was playing with.  We had fun and love play dates!!  Thanks Jamie!

New Shades

Braylen got his own pair of sunglasses, he loves mine and Jeremy's.  They are a little big, but he loves him.  He plays with them when he's in the car and often times puts them on upside down.  I just have to say, "They're upside down, turn them around." and he flips them over and put them on.  I've also been trying to tell him, while driving, "Put them on the top of your ears." to help them stay on his head, but he proceeds to put the ear piece in his ear.  One of these days it will click, but for now the ear piece rests on his cheeks and he tilts his head up to keep them over his eyes.
Look mom, I'm as cool as you and dadda now!!

Taste of Dubuque

Mom and dad were in town this weekend and after a day boating we hit the Taste of Dubuque.  We met up with some Fluhr's and Ready's while there, so Bray had a very fun time!  It was a great night and with all of the good food and beer a tasty night too!!

Bubbles in the tub

Bath time has been a little more challenging lately.  Braylen has fun while in the tub, but hates getting washed and washing his hair, so as soon as he gets in he says he's done.  I've had to use color tabs to change the water colors and we've been trying to swim around the tub more and play games, so it's fun and he gets clean at the same time!  After he's washed up he's happy as a clam and could probably play in the tub for an additional 2 hrs, a slight exaggeration, maybe!

Braylen's hat

I've been struggling to get Braylen to wear a hat outside, but I think I may have found the answer...wear a hat like dadda or momma's (mine's a visor, but same concept). He kept it on almost the whole time he play out in the pool on Sunday!!
