Fluhr Cubs Weekend

It was a Win Win weekend! We went to Friday and Saturday's game and had a great time! They won both games and the weather was awesome, especially for us very pregnant girls, not that I saw many hanging around the bleachers!! We missed Jen and Pat over the weekend, but everyone else was able to attend the Friday game and the boys, Kristin and I went to the Saturday game. A little different being stone sober in the bleachers and the DD for the Saturday game, but I really did enjoy the games and company and of course Jeremy had a blast. We were exhausted when we got home, but were glad to have another great Cubs weekend under our belt before the baby.

Almost there!

We've been working feverishly, OK so not feverishly but I've been anxious and excited, to get the nursery done. We have a few things left to do, but all in all I think we're done. Jeremy put in the closet organizer and that is wonderful, I put up the monkey growth chart, we both put up the wall decorations and last night finished the alphabet. It really has been fun and great to see how every thing's coming together. I am planning to start washing the sheets and some of the clothes with baby detergent and started putting together some of the other items, the bouncer, play mat, pack and play, over the next week. Now, we just need to find a sitter...

A preview of what's to come...

Saturday night after the shower, the guys golf outing and dinner/drinks at Mining Company, we came home to relax and go to bed. We were all pretty wiped out. I got home and decided just to look through and put away some of the gifts I had gotten. Jeremy sat in the nursery with me and mom for a more thorough show and tell, while having a beer, and we had fun looking at all of the cute stuff! After this, I was a little keyed up wanted to keep the baby stuff moving along, so I encouraged Jeremy to begin putting together the stroller/car seat combo. It was sitting in the living room, so it was easy to convince him to begin this project. Now keep in mind, Jeremy had been golfing/drinking all day, 8-5 to be exact, then to our house for a few more drinks, then out to dinner where a few more drink went down pretty smooth for him and home for a night cap. So, this is well above and beyond the casual drinking quota! Also, it was about 11:30pm when this project began. We pulled everything out and began trying to figure out the directions. Not the most clear, I think the best directions were a picture (difficult to see if the stroller was upside down or backwards in the pic) and then it indicated something was to "snap" and then "pop" into place, the exact wording I believe. We finally get it together and Jeremy is trying to remember how to open and close it. I must admit, stone sober, I was a little fuzzy on how the thing worked as well. Jeremy kept saying, "First it goes like this and then it does that." But while doing this, it took approx 5 minutes, to finally do whatever "that" was. I think it was repeated approx 30-40 times and mom and I were laughing so hard during this whole process. The stroller is very nice and really pretty easy to manage, once we get the hang of it!! I think this is just the beginning of putting together lots of stuff for the child, it probably will only get more fun from here. I'll just have to remember to have a case of beer at hand to keep Jeremy's spirits up!!

Baby laughs...

Alana and Angie and my friend Melissa came over to the house to visit with mom and I after the shower, while the guys were still golfing. She fell asleep in the car on the way over and took a good nap before waking up to puppies and balloons. She was entertained for a solid hour with the balloons and the dogs. I must say the dogs were really good around her and she was so good around them. I had to take a couple of videos because her laugh was so contagious!

Last night for softball

Jeremy's summer exercise regimen is officially over, summer softball. They ended on a positive note and won 10-7. The season went pretty well and finished at about 500. Unfortunately I was a bad wife and only attended a few games this year, but I know the guys really enjoy playing and more importantly enjoyed the bar after!! It was a cool night and a great night for some baseball. Until next year...

Pennies and Dimes

I'm not sure why but anytime we're back in Jacksonville at mom and dad's with Mandi and Jess we always revert back to the age of approx 12 yrs old or younger! We had a wicked game of pennies and dimes going and, although not sure who was the championship, yes there was a bracket, everyone had fun playing a game that often occupied our time at the public pool! If you don't remember or never played, pennies and dimes is the game where you have a certain number of coins and someone tosses them in the pool while the contestants, in our case 2 players, had their backs turned and then once settled they are let loose to hunt down the coins. It was so funny to hear bickering about someone taking a coin out of some one's hand and cheating because they saw where the coins were thrown. It was a great way to end our weekend at home and I can honestly say I now know how to entice Jeremy to stay just a little longer on Sunday, offer booze and a friendly game of pennies and dimes!!

Fun in the sun

Since it was so smokin hot outside, after the shower we stripped down to our suits and went swimming. The boys went golfing and when they got back cooled off in the water too. A small, slightly competitive, volleyball game broke out Mandi, Andriy, Jess against Jeremy, Clint and dad, I think they had a little fun. It was so warm, but nice to be able to stay cool with a few beverages and by dunking in the pool. Riley wanted so bad to be human and join them, but unfortunately the water was just not shallow enough for her. After vball and dinner mom and Jess got back in while the guys enjoyed their cigars. Jeremy and I had such a great time hanging out with EVERYONE without the busyness of weddings or graduations, it was awesome!

Shower in Jacksonville

My shower back home was this past Saturday and it was wonderful seeing everyone! I got so many great things, Jeremy and I had so much to unload when we got home. Mom, Mandi and Jess did a wonderful job with the food and set up! Thanks to everyone that was able to make it and for those that weren't, thanks for the wishes and we wish you were there.

32 weeks

Only a short time left before the baby comes! My pregnancy has seemed so easy and felt surprisingly longer than I anticipated, in a good way. I'm getting a little more sore, my legs, feet, back when I'm standing or sitting too long, but other than that I'm doing pretty well. My last dr appt went well measuring on track and heartbeat was strong, I think it was 135ish. After the showers, I think we'll feel like this is a little more "real" and start moving on our "to do" list!! I have had a few very specific dreams lately re gender and dates, if anyone has any experience with dream analyzing, let me know. One was about a month ago and we had a little boy, Patrick Morgan, on Sept 17 at 4 in the afternoon and it was extremely real. The other was just the other night and I don't remember the labor, I think I was unconsious for the labor and after the baby was born, but came to later. Jeremy had taken the liberty in naming our daughter Patricia Danielle and she was born on Sept 10 at around 4 in the afternoon. Both were before my due date and on a Thursday in the afternoon at 4ish. Also, weird that both were named different forms of Pat, not even a name we're considering??!! Anyway, if anyone has any ideas or similar stories I'd love to hear them!

Camping Fun!

Our annual Fluhr camping outing this year was great! Another weekend at our favorite spot in WI Dells with beautiful weather and AWESOME food. We celebrated Don's official retirement and the new babies and babies to be. It was our last time camping without the hassle of all of the extra baby/kid stuff!! I took lots of pictures and, of course, many of them surrounded the little ones. We really had a great time and I can't wait to do it again soon, maybe next year I'll actually be able to enjoy a beer with everyone while Jeremy babysits!!
